Paul Nussbaum was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome in 1997 at age forty after struggles with employment and social disconnect issues. After Paul’s diagnosis, he began advocacy work for himself and the autism/ Asperger’s community. Currently, Paul is a founding board member of AASCEND, an adult autism advocy organization. He also works as a handyman. and is a member of AGI (Autistic Global Initiative), working on several different advocacy projects. In addition, he trains and facilitates understanding of autism/Asperger’s issues, with STEPS (Structured Teaching Environments Promoting Success), in school districts, department of rehabilitation, and other entities throughout California.
